Sketchup Renderings

The built shell of a train was given to multiple student films as to be retro fitted for each individual short film with 4 days difference between each shooting weekend. No amount of damage or large adjustment could be done to the shell itself for longevity purposes and to make turnaround easier. For my design we made fitted lauan inserts and pho-I beams while also utilizing contact paper to allow the train to be painted and aged as desired.

All Graphics had a "happy" and "sad" version which were swapped out between scenes that were based in the past and the present periods within the film, this was done to represent the progressive saddening in perspective of the main character within the physical environment all while seeing the character themself grow older.

Lauan inserts, pho-I beams and hanging shutters were partially sceniced prior to install. The entire set was installed in the train shell, aged, decorated, shot and struck down in a 7 day period. The train station was a single day shoot with only the 12'-0"  fabric banner and trash can with chosen  balloons installed in space.

All train scenes were shot against an LED screen with a rolling rendered environment to provide an in camera space outside of the windows of our set, rather than doing so in post production.
